1. The primary purpose of the edit is to ensure that your media is as clean and clear as it can be. Communication with a particular audience requires direction and clarity, and none of that can effectively be done with raw information(most of the time). The process involves assessing your "baby" and figuring out the ugly and unwanted pieces. Maybe they're pieces that don't belong, like an extra limb. Maybe they're just unsightly or add ons. But they need to be removed. This process involves checking for accuracy,
focusing on the overall narrative or idea of the story, and reworking sound and imagery to create a better effect. This whole process involves forethought on how these edits will effect your "baby" as a whole. In the end, you'll feel as though your child has been torn apart, but it'll be better for this ugly baby.
2. Sign posting is clarified as the moments where the writer thinks the story needs to be clarified and highlighting the important parts of the story that are important for the main idea of the piece.
Framing includes making the information you're giving relevant to your audience and formulating your story in a way that people can understand.
